Our Christmas Day

We started a new tradition once our kids were grown and started having children of their own. Every year we celebrate our Christmas morning the weekend before December 25th. Everyone arrives Friday evening and stays overnight here at our home. Eventually, when the littles are older we can start watching Christmas movies on this night, but this year, they just enjoyed playing together, meeting Hazel for the first time, asking to open presents too many times to count, and playing with the tinsel on the tree and their favorite choo-choo-train ornament.

Christmas morning they come running, squealing with excitement to finally get to open their presents under the tree. Our living room is small in this 100-year-old home, torn wrapping paper and toys start quickly filling up the room. Each year I have given the girls matching nightgowns to wear on Christmas morning, it is a sentimental way to see how much they have grown each year.

This year when I took them to see Santa, Audrey and Aria asked for a baby doll. Kennedy was only interested in Santa's gold shiny buttons, it was the sweetest thing.

I found little vintage doll beds at antique shops this summer, I painted them to match their room upstairs, and Aria and Audrey both received baby dolls Christmas morning. I made sure to give Hazel and Kennedy a baby doll too.

This was our first year meeting Hazel. She has the sweetest little personality and fits right in with Aria, Audrey, and Kennedy. It was fun shopping for four little girls this year for Christmas.

Katie has been enjoying all the time she can with Brandon while he is home on leave for Christmas. She enjoyed shopping with all of us picking out the perfect Bluey and Little Mermaid gifts for Hazel.

I love that the girls love Disney princesses, they love to sing and dance to Moanna, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Merida from Brave. I loved finding princess tea sets and dress-up outfits for them for Christmas. Pretty soon, when we finish their room they will have the perfect place for tea parties, baby dolls, dress up, and sleepovers.

We all had a wonderful Christmas this year, I enjoyed every little moment.

With Love, Amber Hope
