Thanksgiving Day, is a day filled with family and friends.
The smell of a roasting turkey in the oven filled with our family's traditional stuffing, kids peeking at the dessert table and watching the Macy's Day Parade, running circles around the house with cousins, laughter, and stories filling each room. These are some of my favorite memories made each year on Thanksgiving Day.
My younger sister, Jolena, has always made a pumpkin roll from scratch for the holidays. Our kids have always called her Auntie Jo or JoJo, it started when they were little and has just stuck. Our kids are grown now and have babies of their own, and they too call my sister Auntie Jo.
I am the oldest of three sisters. Jolena and I have a lot in common, our kids are all close in age, we both have a love for old homes, design, and photography. My two youngest sisters, Laci and Savannah, have boys who are close in age in their early teen years and love sports.
When I started our small candle business, I knew that first fall that I wanted to create a candle that smelled like my sister's homemade pumpkin roll. I have carried this candle every year in our fall collection. And every year the week before Thanksgiving I enjoy how the smell fills our home with not only the smell of a freshly baked pumpkin roll but more so the sentimental memories our family has made throughout the years.
This season of fall going slowly into the Christmas season, I wanted to create something more with our candles. I wanted to create baskets filled with simple gifts that are put together with a sentimental meaning. Something that can be created by everyone. So I am beginning Simple Gifts Saturday, each Saturday I will share a beautiful, simple, and memorable gift to share with the ones you love.
This week leading up to Thanksgiving, I created a gift basket that would make a wonderful hostess gift. We will be having Thanksgiving in our home this year, but I know my sister Jolena will love this basket I've put together.
These baskets would be lovely for Thanksgiving with a homemade pie and a matching candle. Our Apple Cider Pie, Brown Sugar Bourbon Pecan Pie, and Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie have always been a favorite.
Below are links to each item that created this Thanksgiving hostess basket.

My hope for you this week of Thanksgiving is to have safe travels and enjoy the beauty of color in the autumn leaves and the chill in the air, tables filled with family and friends, laughter, stories, new memories made, and grateful hearts for the food and blessings given, but most of all for such a wonderful life.
With Love,
Amber Hope
